Motor Claims

MS First Capital subscribes the General Insurance Association of Singapore’s Motor Claims Framework (MCF). Under this framework, we expect our motor policyholders involved in a Road Traffic Accident in Singapore to report the accident within 24 hours or by the next working day to either one of the following centres:

  • Any of our Premier Workshops
  • 24-Hours Helpline

If the accident happened in Malaysia you should report the accident to the Malaysian Traffic Police and to our office. You should also ask the Malaysian Traffic Police for a copy of your accident report.

If you do not report an accident within 24 hours or by the next working day, your No Claim Discount (NCD) will be adversely affected.

To file an accident report, you will need:

  • Your Certificate of Insurance.
  • The registration numbers of the vehicles involved and, if possible, the make/model/colour of vehicles.
  • Details of the other party/parties involved and their contract details.
  • Photographs of driver’s NRIC/ driving license (front and back).

There may be further things to note depending on the type of claim you are making.

  • The provision of a courtesy car when yours is undergoing repair.
  • Assistance in your claim for excess and loss of use when you are not at fault for the accident.

Third Party Property Damage Claim

If your vehicle is repaired by any one of our Premier Workshops and if you were not to be blamed for the accident, the Premier Workshop will assist you in the claim against the errant third party for your losses, including your policy excess and loss of use.

  • Avoid using any unauthorized tow-truck operators
  • You should not admit fault for the accident to any third party without obtaining written permission from our office.
